如何對待這封律師信- about service provider

事情是這樣的.

去年12月初簽了一個snow plowing 合同.一月份第一個月帳單來了,發現charge 有出入(列出的服務日期與實際不符,因為家裏一直有人,沒有注意到那些日期提供了服務,這個point可能不是很strong, 但是,有一天晚上,我的車子stuck在driveway上,而這天也被列在invoice上,說是提供了清雪服務).我馬上和service provider 聯係,要求他們pause service until dispute/variance resolved. 他們回話說,他們隻是invoice according to their record. 我又提議能否他們每次來, 提供一個證據(sign),證明他們來過了.他們也不理.後來就一直聯係不上他們了.電話接不通,留言不回,email不回.第二,第三個月的帳單更是離譜,非但沒有pause service, 還出現了一天charge 兩次snow plowing, snow plowed 4 days in row (I don't recall/believe snow was that bad), etc,還charge 了late fee and intrest for the amount we wanted to dispute. 我聯係了他們很多次,他們都ignore. 4月份的時候,我filed BBB, they failed to respond BBB. 我問BBB 我該怎麽辦, BBB 說我不需要做任何事, 直到對方take action. 4,5 月的帳單還是來,每次還加了late fee. 6月份,我去了owner的office, 沒找到人,通過 跟他和租office的人,拿到了他的私人 cellphone number. I called his personal cellphone and reached the owner. The owner was  very rude and insisted we should pay accoring to his record. 交涉又一次失敗,我沒辦法, 給他寄去了一個package including a letter, minimum contract price, 連同以前的email histroy, BBB filing.

6月底,收到律師信,是owner collect money($230). I had conversation with the lawyer and explained what happened. I also mailed the lawyer a package which include a letter of  explaination, all the email histroy, BBB filing, etc.

前兩天又收到律師信,同一個律師,還是collect money. 給了10 天的action 期限.我又聯係了律師,律師幾次都不在,我也留了很多message, 但律師沒回. 我還能做什麽呢? 我自認為有很strong的position, 但不知道對我有什麽不好的影響.錢數目不大,但是覺得這件事我實在沒有做錯.

剛才查了那個公司的review, 發現好多人跟我有類似的經曆.有的請了lawyer filing against the owner. 這個公司現在BBB rating 是consistant 'F'. 可見這實在不是個好公司,但我該怎麽做呢? 為了$230, 我有必要請律師嗎? 我該如何回複那邊的律師信呢? 我還要繼續跟律師follow up 嗎?
