If the loss is less than $10,000, you can sue in small claim court. After you win, do not forget to request a abstract of judgement and recorde in both son an dparent living county. The record is a lien on all real estate properties they own or will own. If one day they will sell or buy a house, they will have to pay you. And plus interest.

The cost of small claim court is very less. around $100.
