Help needed from老貓

Hi 老貓,, My fried need your help to get divorce procedure. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Her hu*****and lost the job at beginning of last year and he never tried to find job anymore. She just found out that her hu*****and sent all of his severance pays to his family in China last year. My friend guess her hu*****and doesn’t want to work any more and he may think to save these moneys for his family and himself. My friend feels bad and wants to divorce with her hu*****and. She just accepted a job in a place far away from her current location. She wants to know:

1, if she can get divorce automatically after 6 month-separations.
2, they have an apartment now and she wants to sell it. She is worrying that her hu*****and may transfer all the moneys to his family China. She earned more money than her hu*****and did in the past 10 years. How she can prevent it?
3, Her hu*****and is an abuse person and it is very common in his childhood. However, my friend never reported to outside because she doesn’t want to destroy his like. Can she use item#1 and 2 to file divorce? If she needs to pay money to her hu*****and since he doesn’t want to work anymore.

She is located in CA now and will move to NY next month. Many thanks.
