I know people who have obtained US citizenship and never bothered to cancel their Chinese household registry, and still kept their chinese ID card. They use U.S. passport when travel, and use chinese ID while in China to handle banking related matters.

Based on this info, there shouldn't be a problem to sell the house in the future, as long as you are able to be there to sign the transaction.
