（急）求助：兩個學校I-20之間5個月的間隔期必須離境麽？

我本科畢業的學校跟碩士的學校I-20之間有5個月間隔， 兩個學校I-20之間5個月的間隔期必須離境麽？有的律師說可以，有的說不行。請問誰能告訴我確切的法律規定？
