Update: 女兒在公立學校闖禍了

女兒的case 到今天,有了一個結論. 上來向大家做個匯報.同時也向法律谘詢欄目的老貓及眾xdjm 表示真誠的感謝.

前後與School Principal, District Director, District Superintendent 寫了若幹EMAIL, 談了5次,共約 5小時多.其間有的談話非常不愉快!直到今天school district 給出的結論(final decision)承認懲罰我女兒的罪名”Harassment/Cyber-bullying”不成立. 更正為”Inappropriate behavior”, 但拒絕取消 suspension. 隻主動提出要在我女兒中學第一年(既七年級)結束後,進行REVIEW, 若再無事故發生,就取消(Expunge) suspension record. 這一段的經曆,真的是種痛苦,讓我真正感受到美國政府機關的”官官相護”. 按說,懲罰的原因都不成立了, 懲罰即該取消. 事實上並非如此. 其中有些來自他們的威脅實在非常無理和惡劣! 這裏就不一一贅述了. 心裏不能咽下這口氣, 也正式谘詢了律師(朋友的朋友), 希望能進一步pursure, 但律師表示,學校明顯OVER-REACT and not fair, 但這樣的CASE is very common in public school system. 也許花一年時間, 花一到兩萬,都不一定能上COURT. 因為公立學校有很多保護 and immune. (是這樣嗎?). 他建議我 MOVE ON. 絕對的公平是不存在的.

另外,女兒班上,最近有發生類似但更為嚴重事件(two groups of kids fighting and cursing each other for weeks on face book, and in the classroom, and one (who is the assistant teacher of the school) of the parents reported to the principal), 校長召集有關學生及家長開了會, 沒敢給出任何處罰.
