《大海啊故鄉》音樂通俗易懂、優美動聽、感情真摯。歌曲從旋律上，簡單大方、容易傳唱。

在節奏音型上多采用二分音符、二分附點音符、大附點等手法，把主人公對大海、故鄉、

祖國母親的思念體現的淋漓盡致。每一段音樂的歌詞都有逐層遞進之勢，

由娓娓道來的訴說到情感的宣泄，都表現出了主人公對大海深深的愛，

以及希望祖國母親能夠越來越好的那份期盼之情。
