IF has been rejected in Australia

as heaps scientists and academics argued if it is fair to simply use IF to compare different journals, different fields and different research principles.

The journals are ranked differently for different research fields, into four caterogies: A*, A, B, and C. That's all. I personally think this is much better and fairer.

We are now more foused on H-index or simply citation number.

But to be honest, we have to pay attention to IF too. The whole world still takes it seriously.
