great - I used to refrain from using/speaking in

British English, but now become a big fan of it!

one my colleague who is a British lady was frustrated for the American English when she arrived at Chicago.

 

She asked an Airport ground staff: where can I hire a car?

 

What? The staff was astonished: you want to hire a car not a person?

 

No, I want to get a car to drive! My colleague was confused.

 

Oh, you wanna rent a car! I understand now.
