For a person who is leaving

it is wise not to mention why he/she is leaving in public. Instead, it is fair enough to mention how good he/she has been in the job and how we will miss him/her after he/she leaves.

Everything has two sides so it is pointless to argue with your counterpart regarding who is wrong. Instead, trying to fix the problem and build a good relationship every after is the wise option to go through.
