yes. I was there in last April. Unless you run into suicide bomber, you should be fine. Don't take bus if you can. The tourism in Israel was dead from 2000 to 2004 due to tension between palestine people and Israelis. My tour guide told me the most popular site used to be packed with people and you had to wait in a long line to get in. It started to recover at latter half of 2004. In early 2005, there still were not too much tourists so we did not spend much time waiting. Hopefully you won't run into too many people either. Good Luck.
