H1B transferred..date issue

I just got my approval of my transferred H1B. The effective date is the reciept date for my transfer application, and expires in 3 years. I have used my old H1B for 1 year. Will this be a problem? When should I renew, in two years (old one expires) or in 3 years (new one expires)?
Any one has the same experience? Please share.
