It is not worse than in U.S. especially its benifit for its P.R. you don'y need to buy any health insurance and this will save you a lot of money. You can go to school so that you can apply for loan and bursary if you don't have a job in the very beginning. You need to return the load to the government, but the bursary is yours. a friend of mine, they couples can get more than 10,000 bursary a year. they just save their loan in bank and live on their bursary. Also, the living expense in Canada is much much lower than in U.S. In the very beginning, 1200~1500 CAD will be enough for your renting an apartment, food, transportation and so on.
