have a canadian address is more important in getting the maple card. I drove my own car and back with no problem. I did tell the officer that it is a short landing, and I was told that they won't process the maple card until I move permenantly to Canada, but it was mailed to the canadian address I used a month later anyway. You don't need to import your car at that point especially since you don't intend to live in Canada for quite some time. Just list the car on Goods to follow list.
