I just tried to use a Bank of America ATM card to withdraw 500RMB from a Citibank ATM in Beijing, the transaction showed on my banking statement is US$ 60.59 + $0.59 Interantional transaction fee. The rate is 8.252 which is better than cash or traveler's check. I cashed traveler's check at Bank of China, the rate is 8.241 and it charge 0.75% service fee, cash has the same rate without service fee.
