Ask ImmCanada for Canadian PR

Just got a letter requesting my passport to be sent to Buffalo, plan to land soon. Couple questions want to ask ImmCanada for advice:

1. How quick can I get maple card if I fill the application while landing?
2. I am living very close to Canada... And I heard there will be no record if I drive back to the U.S. So, is it possible to have a Canadian address and pretend I am still "physically" in Canada?
3. What do you mean by "mid exam"? Does the Canadian government ask for your passport to check during the middle of 5 years period?
