Half of the American residency

are for IMGs (international medical graduates). If they consider it unfair, then most of the hospital will be too short of hands lah. This is the fact, they respect graduates from other countries, since most of the medical school teach the same body of knowledge and that's all needed to become a doctor. It doesn't matter what you do before your medical education. All matters is what you learn in medical school to help people.
