I don't believe foreign medical graduates are treated equally in the US.

Higher standards are often used to judge foreign medical graduates. For example, if you want to get into a particular residency program, you have to score higher on the board than a domestically trained MD before they will take you.

In the US, a person can start medical school right out of high school also. There are special 7-year programs.
