Go to social security office with your green card, another photo ID (Say driver license). You'd better change it, SS office will remove those letters "valid for work......" and send another card to you arround 15 days. There will be the same number, just without those headache words.
If your drive license is with some red letters, such as "valid status expires xx/xx/xxxx". Go change it too. To some extent, DMV (not police) considers your driver license as invalid if your status expires according to my experience. Because they asked me to keep the one with red letter though they were going to send another to me.
