We have the same situation: hu*****and is the primary petitioner but got arrpoved several months later after wife received her formal greencard.
One of our lawyer believes that you must ask the INS to fix their mistake AFTER YOUR HUSBAND'S CASE GETS APPROVED!!!
Here is the lawyer's words:
"Regarding your wife, I believe strongly that she must have the error corrected. If she fails to do so, she faces the prospect of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services or one of its affiliated agencies causing significant problems regarding her status at a later date. The problem could rear its head at any time, and it will never happen at an opportune time."
