If you do have a lot of publications, just select some of them from all your papers. You do not have to attach all the papers but you need to mention that how many papers you have totally. You can also spare some new or recently published papers as backups in case RFE is issued to you since you do not know what will get into the mind of officers when they review your case. It is not necessary to submit any books you authored or coauthored. That will make your application lighter. Mine is probably around 150 pages (did not count exactly). The whole package (140 and 485) for my family (3 persons) is about 9-10 cm thick. Hope it helps.
