Is it easy to change H4-H1

My wife is holidng a H1 visa. I am going to work at a different place. We had thought of moving together to the new place, and my wife would have to change her H1 into H4. Someone told me that it might be difficult to find a job with H4 visa and change H4 into H1. So it would be better that my wife stay at her current job until she finds a new job at my place. If my wife needs to change her status into H4 after I get my H1, is there a premium process to file H4?

Could you please give me some advice? I greatly appreciate your answer.
