The best way is let him come to US with H4 and file I485 with you together, if you are still waiting for your I485 approval, in this way he does not need file I824, and he will get the green card with you.It depends on your situation, if he has to stay at China, you need file I824 for him,before or after your I485 approval, but, the approval of I824 is depended on the approval of your I485, so it does not really matter, only advantage is save some time. Highly recommend to let him come to US with H4 and it is the best way if it is possible.
