Better not rely on online status. After I got my 3rd letter for several says, my online status just changed to "medical exam results received".
For your case, probably you are under background check. Or maybe your mail was lost. So you need to check with Consulate.
I've read some posts here regarding Canada immigration. Some takes less than 1 year, some takes more than 3 years. Some with BS degree doesn't need interview and english test, some with US MS degree need interview and english test. Sometimes it's about luck. It may also releated to how you prepared your application.
