H1B petition fee. Urgent!!

Is the petition fee $195 has to be paid by the employer? The company is asking me to pay the $195 petition fee by myself. I wouldn't care the money, but will it be a problem if I use my own personal check to pay USCIS this $195? anyone knows? Please help!! Thanks.
