H1B Backup

Hi, Folks

I have been using my H1B for 2 1/2 years. Since the damn PERM, GC applicaiton got stocked... God knows when I can get my GC. Thinking about apply a Canada GC for backup, have several questions:

1. Any negative effect to my US GC application?

2. Once I get Canada GC, how can I keep it valid while I am still working in US?
