Worth trying near by airport, the worse case is getting denial.

The date on my I-94 was wrong and I have it corrected in the airport, and a friend of mine did that too, because it was obvious, H1b should have 3 years but only 3 months in I-94, but another friend wasn't that lucky. Good luck.
