You and your dependent should be approved together. That's the policy of USCIS.

If related cases are seperated, USCIS considers it as a Service ERROR and should be corrected ASAP.

Call the USCIS, there is a choice for your situation: related cases are seperated.

They will check your dependent's case immediately.

Don't wait! USCIS will not know your dependent's situation and he may wait for months even years.
