NIW question-please help!

Recently it seems a lot of NIW cases got approved. Really encouraging! I would like to ask every expert (DA Xia) a question on NIW application. Any advice/suggestion is hightly appreciated.

I have a Ph.D. in chemistry and MS in computer science. During my graduate study, I published 8 papers in the journal. After graduation, I joined in a telecommunication company. After 2 years, I joined in a pharmaceutical company. Right now, I am thinking to apply NIW by DIY. However, I have a question regarding my experience in the telecommunication company.

How should I address the 2 year experience?
My NIW case should be based on my current job and my Ph.D. research, but the research I did in the tele company has nothing to do with chemistry, although I filed a patent in that period, and what I am doing now is about chemistry and chemical informatics.
