沒有所謂“permanent job”

移民局從來都是說“permanent position”.
“permanent position”的意思是說，這個職位是某個學校或公司永久設立的職位，而不是臨時性的。

比如說一個係，其中係主任就是個“permanent position”，係秘書也是“permanent position”，因為隻要這個係存在，就會有這兩個職位。
但是“電腦網絡工程師”就不是“permanent position”，因為係裏不需要設立一個永久的管理電腦網絡的職位，隻是在需要維修時臨時請來一個就是了。

但是“permanent position”不等於會永遠地雇傭一個人，就算是係主任也是會更換的，在美國很少有“permanent job”。
