Some big companies do not sponsor for EB1-OR based GC, OR meansing outstanding researcher. If you are a senior engineering (not scientist), you may not have the chance. Most companies file GC for their employees through the lab certificate route, which currently is even slower than that you do it by yourself.

If your background is strong enough, try to apply GC by yourself through NIW or EB1-EA or both. Many people do this even their employers also apply GC for them at the same time.

In any case, GC is a long and painful process and what you need is confidence and patience.
