Name check can be fast, can be slow. One of my friend submitted his case in Jan, 2002. And he went through the interview, but didn't get approval on the spot. His case is still pending for the result. I bet his name is just so popular that it brought him a lot of trouble. They called FBI on a monthly bases. But still no progress.
