TN1 visa is issued at the port of entry. You don't need to go to any US embassy or consulate. You will get a TN1 visa if you are a Canadian citizen AND you have an US employment letter. You need to renew your TN1 visa every year. But it is easy. If you change your employer, the TN1 visa becomes invalid. You then will need to leave the US and obtain a new TN1 visa at the port of entry using the new employement letter. In short, TN1 is easy for a Canadian Citizen. There is nothing to worry about, as long as you can find a job.
