Just land in Canada, then give them the mailing address in Canada and the Canadian government agency will mail the maple card to your address in Canada. You can use your friend's address in Canada. They sent the maple card to my Canadian friend's address 20 days after I did my landing.
It's a very easy process. Nothing to worry.
