Change employer

I got I140 approved (Outstanding Prof or Researcher). I have filed 485 for more than 180 days. I am thinking to change my employer from the University to a company, a contractor of an US Governnemt organization. There would be no any change concerning my research (same project as what I am working on in the University).
Is it allowed based on AC21 Act? Is there anybody has the experience similar to my case? If you could give me some suggestion or comments, it would be highly appreciated.
