sdfsdfsdff,please help

Thank for your answer for my canada visitor visa application. Would you please give me more information, 1)i am a research assistant, can i only use the financial support letter from my department as the financial verification, or i need one from bank, or both of them?
2) I am in texas, if i go personal, can i go to buffalo
because i will go to Ottawa, or i must get it from LA?
3) do i need US visa if i only go there 3 weeks?
