What's the use of wife if you two do not have kids and u are taking the responsibility too early.

You should have found somebody in US with independent status (illegal status is OK, as long as she does not rely on you) and live together and have kids first, marriage is a second step only if you two have kids and love each other.

Rushing into marriage and taking responsibility is a big mistake.
