It's not clear for this point. I used AP to China several months ago, when return, the INS official told me my status was "Pending", but more like I was still H1B. My lawyer told me that in the worst case if the 485 is rejected, I can still use H1b, but he didn't say if I need to re-apply H1B or not cause very few case got the same situation.

Don't worry, just return to China, especially your 140 was approved.
