回複：FBI name check and FP contact

The Fingerprint check and the Name check (or background check) are two different processes done by the FBI on each applicant.

Therefore, your status showing "fingerprint received..." refers to the former, ONLY.

You can check the status of your Name Check with the FBI if you like.

You can call them on 202-324-2399, or fax them on 202-324-3367.

If you call them, you will need to leave on your info on a machine, which states that you will be called back in "48 business hours". However, it has been about 2 weeks since I left a message, and have yet to hear anything. Others have reported that they have received a response to a fax query in 4-5 weeks.

By the way, here is the FBI number for checking the status of Fingerprinting (should there be others reading this who need it): 304-625-5590, then option 3. They will ask for your A# and then give you the status of the fingerprint. Here, you have a live person that comes on the line, and is able to look the status of the FP immediately, and is happy to let you have it.

Thanks Freeview. I called and the message stated that since Sept 24th FBI will no longer return any phone calls. The inquiries can be made by emailing to [e-mail] I am not sure about this since the message says it kind of quick.
