How soon your mom want to come back again?
If you extend this time and the extend period is less than one year, she can't get another visa within 3 years, if the extend period is more than one year, she can't get another visa with in 10 years. Of cause, different visa officer has different understanding of this rule.
My suggestion, if your mom doesn't have plan to come back within 3 years, you go ahead extend for her, othervise, don't.
