Yeah, when you have AP, you don't need visa to enter U.S. However, I read somewhere from mitbbs 精華區 that once you use AP, you lose your F-1 status, which means that if your I485 is not approved, then you have no status and you will have to leave U. S. But it also says if you file I485 based on family or marriage, then your F-1 status won't be affected even if you use AP or EAD. so I guess it depends on which category you are in, but still I am not sure. Maybe you can do more research on it.
