請問 8 老師一個問題。我兒子是加拿大公民，在2023 年5月離開美國到中國，2023年6月獲得綠卡（美國律師把綠卡寄到中國）；因此他未能在離開美國前申請reentry permit（USCIS 規定申請reentry permit時，申請人必須持有綠卡和人在美國）。因為健康原因，他一直留在中國至今，並計劃秋季返回美國。因為他離開美國時不是綠卡身份，又不符合申請USCIS 官網上的Returning Resident Visas的第一個條件（Step 1 - Qualifying for Returning Resident Status）。請問 8 老師，我兒子計劃今年秋季回美國，他應該通過什麽程序或申請什麽Permit 或 visa才能保留他的綠卡身份？多謝！
