請教8老師，我外甥以B2身份在美探親。他準備在這裏申請本科大學，先以English Program拿I-20, 然後再申請正式專業。他想在美國轉F1。請問：

1. 語言I-20比正式專業在美國B2轉F1更難嗎？

-Not really.

在中國簽F1比在美國轉更有拒簽風險嗎？

-Not really, depends on how you justify it.

2. 如果他的B2轉F1被拒，他能拿美國B2簽證去墨西哥或加拿大嗎? 然後重新進入美國時，再試簽F1嗎？

-He needs to keep his B2 status valid before he goes to Canada or Mexico to apply for the F-1 visa in the US Consulate in Canada or Mexico. Because it takes longer time for the process on change of status from B2 to F1, probably he may be out of status when his change of status is denied though he can stay in US legally during the change of status is pending.
