I am curious how to know you need to wait for a couple of years to have the visa interview. I have never heard that NVC schedule the appointments for immigrant visa interview based the visa categories. Normally, NVC will schedule your appointment if you complete your visa appication and your priority date is current and also, the US Consulate have time.
