他拿到移民approval，大概需要等一年嗎？

-Normally yes, but sometimes it may take more time, especially due to Covid.

他在國內等待approval期間，不能入境直到拿到approval,對嗎？

-He probably cannot enter US using B2 visa due to immigrant intent. He needs to apply for the immigrant visa to come to US after your I-130 is approved. Nationa Visa Center will contact you and send you the instruction for the immigrant visa application after your I-130 is approved.

You may visit him when the Covid situation decrease in China and US during this period.
