我隊友綠卡， 現在人已經在國內上班， 他的綠卡馬上就要過期了， 準備放棄綠卡，就不要了， 我問我們需要給使館填表申請嗎， 還是過期就不renew就可以了， 謝謝！

After the abandonment is aprpoved, keep the approval document for future application for the visa (nonimmigrant visa or immigrant visa) and green card.
