請問，等待公民審批期間，需要保持綠卡有效嗎？

各位好！現有一問題請教大家：

我已遞交了公民申請，現在審批大約需要十六個月，我的綠卡很快就過期了，請問：我還需要遞交綠卡延期申請以保證綠卡有效嗎？
