我的妹妹是綠卡持有者， 她已經申請了三次回美證（ 一共使用了五年）， 她當時申請的原因是自己的足部手術，她在中國做的手術（手術失敗了一次，又做了第二次手術）　和後續治療， 也順帶幫助年邁的父母。 由於她已經申請了三次回美證，一共在中國呆了５年時間。原則上，她不可以再申請回美證了。

由於目前國內的父母身體都很不好， 我妹妹希望再向 移民局申請一次 re entry permit 的extension. 她目前的回美證會在今年4 月中旬到期。

我建議她寫一個簡單明了的陳述， 加上父母的醫生的診斷證明（中英雙語）， 以及說明在瘟疫期間她一旦回到美國，無法在緊急狀態下（比如親人病危）從美國順利返回中國， 用DHL的方式把自己要求的回美證申請延期的材料郵寄給移民局官員，不知這麽做的思路是否可以？謝謝。

-This strategy will not work. Based on the immigration law, she needs to return to US before the current reentry permit expires adn then, file I-131 for renewal of the reentry permit within US. She can leave US after conducting the biometrics/fingerprinting. She may request expedited processing for biometrics which take 10 to 14 days. See this link:

If she does not return to US before the current reentry permit expires, her green card probably will be revokded (cancelled).
