我這朋友拿到EB2綠卡有兩年了，因為當時正好在國內學校找到個工作，就申請了個Reentry permit，今年10月份就過期了。因為他兒子還在在美國上初中，回國跟不上學習，隻好讓妻子和兒子留在美國，他每年就寒假和暑假來美國兩個多月。根據綠卡的條款，如果就這麽繼續下去，他遲早某一次入關，會被海關人員沒收綠卡。所以有放棄綠卡申請一個旅B2簽證的想法。他的疑問是：1）如果妻子不同意放棄綠卡，不放棄能行嗎？-His family members do not need to give up the green card even if he does it.
2）他申請綠卡時是主申請人，現在放棄綠卡，會影響家人的綠卡嗎？
-Not at all! His abandoment of green card will not affect his family members' green card validity.
3）他放棄綠卡，再申請B2簽證會有困難（比如簽證官故意刁難）嗎？
-It should be fine.
4）還有其他辦法解決他的問題嗎？我建議他再申請Reentry Permit試試，可行嗎？-He may renew the reentry permit for one or two more times, but if he applies for renewal for more times (e.g. > 3 times), USCIS may not approve it.
