我可否在美等待調整身份?

我的F1年底到期, 老公有綠卡並已於兩年前為我申請綠卡,現處於排期之中. 請問F1失效之後我可否在美等待一兩年調整身份? 若如此會否受到3至1年不能入境的懲罰?
